Swiss Parliament modernizes debt enforcement system and introduces two new debt restructuring proceedings for individuals
In two significant reforms of the Federal Debt Enforcement and Bankruptcy Act (DEBA), the Swiss Parliament has modernized Swiss insolvency law. The reforms introduce further digitalization of enforcement proceedings including a nationwide electronic debt enforcement register extract and online auctions and, for the first time, create dedicated debt restructuring mechanisms for private individuals, including the possibility of a discharge of residual debt.
